Two questions.
1. When Aiergans "move" or change planes, what exactly is happening? Is it instantaneous, a few seconds, longer, etc.
2. Same type of question for shadow walking. How long does it take to merge/emerge from the shadows? And how exactly does one travel through the shadows? Does one become one with the shadows, flow through shadows, or something like that?

1. You can say the two planes are like two different dimensions of the world. When an Aiergan/Oblivain change planes, the time varies, depending on the person. Really, its up to you, but I would expect experience to be a major part of the time it takes.
2. Once again, the character needs to be in the upper plane first. The time it takes is different for each individual, but consider the 'amount' of shadows. For example, at night there would be more shadows, but in an open plain during the day, hardly any. The characters simple mold with the shadows, so it can be considered merging with it, than perhaps like flowing through, or skimming through.

Thought of more questions while developing my post.
1. What exactly does the sensation of changing planes feel like? Is it unique per person?
2. What exactly is the Upper Plane like? The way I see it is it's the Lower Plane, but no wind, no scents (from the Lower. If something in the Upper has a smell, you can smell it), colors washed out. That kind of thing.

1.up to you 2.details details... The Upper plane is a distorted world, where shadows are more emphasized than the lower plane. The five senses are still active, but for those who only lurk in the lower plane, it is unfathomable.
Most of the things are really up to your character.
