The waves crashed upon the old cliffs of Llyr, sending their spray up and stinging boy's eyes. He watched the birds, free as they were, diving and catching their prey. Fishing boats from Araceli were out taking their share of the sea's bounty as well. He heard some people behind him, traders probably, making their way down to the capital. They wouldn't notice him though. No one ever did.
Des stood up, his cloak catching wind. The air was chilly, but it didn't bother him. He looked down to the capital within his view. He didn't like being around cities, but he heard some rouge was spotted in the area, most likely by one of those lazy advisers. Why couldn't the Militan just fight whoever was causing the problem? Des shook his head and made his way to the city, wondering what he was going to encounter.

A young woman stood at the end of the cliff, her eyes wandering through the many people who passed by. Nothing new with any of these faces. Some of them said hello to her, tipping their hats or clicking their tongues, getting her attention was harder than they thought. Her blue eyes crept through the people, ordinary fellows were all that she saw, nothing more. She paused, her mouth slowly opening as her sight fell upon someone who looked different from the others. Black cloak, dazzling green eyes, sharp senses. Was he even a human? Her legs wanted to move, to go and greet him, to ask him what his name was..She wouldn't move. Something in the back of her mind told her not to. All she could do was exhale her held breath as she followed him, realizing that no other being seemed to notice him at all. Who on earth was this man? Her voice tried to break free from her mouth, to call to him and see what would happen. She wanted to try, but she remained silent, her breath slowed as she watched him with her left eye, her right eye clouded because of its glitch. Questions swirled in her mind.

Des weaved between the various people who passed by, careful not to touch any of them. That might cause... unwanted consequences. It had happened before, when he was still a Novice, and the person ended up yelling about invisible people for the next hour. He felt something prickle on the back of his neck, like there were eyes on him. He glanced around. Was the rouge this close? His eyes settled on a young woman who looked about his age. She was rather attractive, but that wasn't why he had stopped. His feet skidded to a halt. She was watching him. She could see him. She wasn't an Aiergan; he would have sensed that. Nor was she Oblivain. He stared back at her, hesitant to approach but too curious to move. "You can see me," he said quietly.

The girl noticed that he had spoken, and she hesitantly looked down, realizing that he realized that she could see him. Other people watched her, allowing a few areas of space so she could have some room to mingle with other passerbys. "Of course I can see you, doesn't everyone?" She whispered, hoping that this was all a dream. The girl had heard of the race known as Aiergian before, they were supposedly like ghosts, invisible and troublesome. He couldn't be one of them...could he? "Don't look startled, you are worrying me.." Her eyes were locked on his feet, or atleast where they should be. His whole body was concealed by that black cloak. He looked as shocked as she was, but all she could do was wait for his response. Black locks fell to her side as she tilted her head, studying the others' faces. They did glimpse at her once or twice, but none laid eyes on the boy. Her lips pursed as she slowly looked back at him with clouded eyes. Rarely did she enjoy being the center of attention.

Des didn’t understand. He was nothing, nothing to people, to humans, unless he wanted to be seen. He even then, he had only showed himself once before. He would have noticed if he stepped though to the other world. It wasn’t exactly something you could do without thinking. People still walked between Des and the young woman, but their eyes remained locked, at least when the girls’ weren’t darting around looking for something that meant she wasn’t going crazy. ‘Don’t look so startled,’ she says. What am I supposed to do? He moved to the side, nearer to the girl, to get out of the crowd. He was prepared to summon his sword if necessary. He knew that he shouldn’t get so sidetracked when there was a mission to accomplish, but he needed to know. Des licked his lips. “No, not everyone can,” he said carefully. “Who are you?”

"T-Tahlia...Aeronwy" Some of the people looked at her confused. Who was she talking to? Tahlia straightened up as she slowly glanced back at him, muttering a few quiet words that only he could hear. "May I ask what your name is.." She sounded as if she was far off, daydreaming, but this was all too real. Her arms throbbed from various scars that aligned them, as if the pain that had struck her when she made them were coming back. "It doesn't matter, if you don't want to tell me your name then I will just leave you alone, and you can go on with walking around unseen." Tahlia caught a few stares from the other citizens, they all were confused, she was talking to thin air, or so they thought.

Des laughed. He couldn't help it. He laughed at the looks the travelers were giving the girl. He laughed at how terrified she was of him. He laughed because her own father was what helped to make him what he is. “Aeronwy... You're the princess of Llyr,” he chuckled still more but then abruptly stopped. "Normally I would want to kill you, but since it seems you have no idea what's going on or who I am, I won't hold it against you. Just know that daddy isn't telling you everything."
He could imagine that Tahlia thought he was insane or that she was dreaming up some invisible insane man. Des really did think that more people knew about Aiergan, especially the nobles. But being dragged away as young as he was, he couldn't even remember a time when he didn't know about them. It still begged the question, how could the girl see him? Suddenly something clicked within his mind; it all made sense. She was the rogue, or what everyone thought was a rogue. That Advisor probably noticed something different about her and figured she was an Oblivain. Des crossed his arms and shook his head, trying to look a little bit unthreatening. “My name isn’t important, but I’ll tell you anyway.” He thought about making something up, more interesting than his real name, but decided against it. “Des Straton. I’m an Aiergan.”

Tahlia blinked, he knew who she was? An aiergan knew who she was? He must know my father..She took a step to the side, following the currents which bashed against the rocks below. "It is nice to meet you Des" She smiled a little, without meeting his eyes. This was different, she and him were not the same, they didn't share the same blood, but the feeling that ran inside of her was not a feeling of shock, she liked being different, finally feeling important made her insides tingle. "Yes I am Roald's only child, but I will never rule over Llyr, even when my father passes. They call me the broken heiress." The wind finally started to pick up in speed, catching loose strands of hair. Meeting new people never felt like this.

Des nodded and looked her over, noticing that one eye did indeed seem different than the other. She did have that royal stance about her, and he had heard of her from others he knew. It was a real shame that Tahlia would never get to rule, not just for her, but the whole continent. Her father may unwittingly cause a war between the southern nations, and if the south is at war, the Empire is bound to join in. Maybe if he could find a way…
It felt strange talking to the girl. Des hadn’t had a normal conversation in a long time, if it was to be considered normal at all. “You know, I’m rather shocked that you’re talking to me,” he observed. “Most people think that we’re demons or something like that.” He looked out into the ocean, so far down from where he stood. “Then again, most people know virtually nothing about us.”

"Believe me, I only know that you're kind and my kind don't get along well...but my father rarely tells me anything except the current events of Llyr." Tahlia managed a smile, the line of people was starting to minimize, meaning less annoyed glares. "You are shocked? What about me? I rarely ever get to see anyone but the men who are sent to keep me alive, even then, they usually talk amongst themselves. I haven't had a real conversation in ages..and now I realize that I can talk to Aiergans, strange birthday present you know.." Tahlia looked back at him, her smile growing a tad smaller. "You had me scared at first...I thought you were an oblivian before, those black cloaks kind of give people like me the wrong ideas."

Des smiled. He didn’t expect the girl to be so heads-up. The king of Llyr must be a good leader if he had time to talk to his daughter and to keep the peace of most of the world. The oblivain comment had him interested. They were known even less than his kind, and most of the bad reputation attributed to Aiergans came from them. “Yeah, well, we’ve been around longer than they have, so if anything, they stole it from us.” Actually he had never seen an Oblivain. He didn’t even know what they looked like outside of rumors. Des glanced back at the capital. “Have you ever thought about leaving this place? I know that I was directed here for a reason, and people like you aren’t exactly commonplace.”

Tahlia followed his gaze, catching sight of her father's magnificent home that he shared with three maids, one of which told her the stories of the Oblivian and the Aiergan races. "I would never abandon my people in Llyr, the thought has entered my mind once or twice, but I wouldn't be able to leave anyway, my father has eyes all over the place, making sure his 'broken heiress' doesn't become even more damaged." She crossed her arms, the lecture rolled through her mind hundreds of times, she even had those words memorized. "This is the only place where he can't watch me. Right here on this cliff where all the traders and merchants come to enter through the border." her words were sharp and jagged in the cool air of the evening, she was only wearing her favored dress after all, who wouldn't be cold?

Another gust of wind tore through the air. “Well, what if you could stay in Llyr? We need someone who the people trust on our side. Maybe if you can tell people that we actually do exist, then it would be possible to dissolve the Peace, at least in Llyr.” Des looked back at Tahlia. She was what they needed, the beloved princess of the most powerful nation in the south. But she didn’t know, didn’t know who the Aiergan even were. How would he convince her, especially with her father constantly watching over her? Bring her to a fort? “You don’t even know who we are, do you? I had no idea that people were still in the dark so much.” He smirked, thinking about how hard the aristocrats must have had to work to be able to do that. “Idiots,” he muttered.
(OOC: Oi, sorry about taking so long. As you can see, I can’t really think of anything. My brain is numb.)

Tahlia felt the wind brush against her cheeks as he spoke, people were watching them, or atleast her. She had to giggle, they looked so confused, as if they really thought she was crazy. Tahlia looked back at him, staring into his eyes. "I can only say that Cloe did know an AElran. In fact, she told me stories that they died when they were seventeen, either becoming an Aiergan or an Oblivian. Both banished from this realm for good, I have heard people refer to your kind as ghosts as well." She took a nice breath of air before continuing, "I would love to help your kind, but would that mean that we would have to go to war?" War was so exhilerating. She always wanted to see what it was like, to feel the adrenaline it had caused when it pulsed through veins, it wouldn't make her father to happy though...

Des raised his eyebrows. Tahlia almost seemed eager at the prospect of going to war. And that servant she knew, how was she associated with an Ælran? Everything was so confusing. First this girl who could see him, and now this. At least he would have a shot at actually making a difference, but the Elders probably wouldn’t like it. He would need support, someone from the Militan maybe. “It might.” He smiled a little, though he wasn’t sure why. “It’s practically inevitable if more than one nation breaks it, and since Llyr is the most influential, it’s very possible.” He crossed his arms, thinking. “The odd thing is, I don’t even see a reason why the nations are so protective of the Peace. There are rumors that the Empire’s been stockpiling weapons, so stopping us won’t keep the wars from coming. Humans are naturally inclined to war; it’s in their nature. Take away a sword, they find an axe. No amount of discussion or ignorance will change the fact that people like to fight.” He stopped, a little shocked at the near-philosophy that he was speaking.
